Huntington Hospital Uses SlenderWall for Addition

Midland, Va. - Huntington Hospital, Long Island, NY, specified the SlenderWall architectural precast concrete panel system for the addition on to the existing structure.

Arcon, Inc., an Easi-Set Industries SlenderWall licensee, located in Gilford, NH, was the chosen manufacturer for the project.

The patented SlenderWall architectural precast concrete panel system was proposed for the project by Barr & Barr Contractors because of the successful results from an earlier project in Mahwah, NJ. SlenderWall allowed for a fast schedule and saved the project many months and considerable money as compared to traditional construction costs. By using SlenderWall, the project gained additional floor space. The galvanized steel stud framework of the panel system accepts drywall directly needing no floor mounted steel stud wall.

SlenderWall combines time-proven components to create a permanent, light weight wall system for both new construction and recladding projects. Architectural precast concrete, welded stainless steel Nelson anchors and heavy-gauge stainless or galvanized steel studs create a single, efficient exterior wall system with unlimited design freedom. Due to the exclusive “lift-and-release” panel landing system of SlenderWall, installation time and costs can be reduced by 50%.

This technology is the only 2” wall connection system that meets AAMA 501.4-2000, the Interstory Differential Movement vertical and horizontal displacement test.
