Record-breaking Operations Pace Makes History at Smith-Midland

Midland, Va. - Ringing in the New Year has translated into a record-breaking pace of operations at Smith-Midland Corp. A record 760 tractor trailer loads of concrete products moved off of the Smith-Midland precast concrete storage yard during the month of January, according to CEO Rodney Smith.

According to Smith, this is attributable to a number of factors. Demand for the company’s varied products has been high across the board, from the SlenderWall architectural precast concrete panel system to its J-J Hooks barrier system to Easi-Set precast concrete buildings. This demand is evident in the company’s participation in a number of ongoing high-profile projects, including the construction of the 38-story Virginia Beach Town Center, the tallest building in Virginia, production of highway barrier and sound wall for the Maryland Transportation Authority project at the I-95/I-695 interchange near Baltimore and security barrier for the New York Port Authority’s World Trade Center Transportation Hub.

Smith-Midland Corporation is a publicly traded company (OTC BB: SMID, SMIWC; Boston Stock Exchange: SMM, SMM/W). Smith-Midland develops, manufactures and sells a broad array of precast concrete products for use primarily in the construction, transportation and utilities Industries. Smith-Midland has three manufacturing facilities located in Midland, Va. and Reidsville, N.C. Easi-Set Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Smith-Midland Corporation, licenses the production of Smith-Midland developed products around the world.
